This beer derivative was popularized to suburban youth by Yo! MTV Raps and the 90s movies Boyz n the Hood and Friday. Hard to believe, but there are some efficient malts, though they don't rank highly for taste and social acceptability. The 12 ounce serving size is just meant for relative comparisons to cans or bottles of beer. 40s are the preferred delivery vehicle for malt liquor, though oversized cans are also common on corner delis and convenience stores.
